• Marine Adder Class Transport: Laid down, 6 December 1944, as a Maritime Commission (C4-S-A3) hull, under Maritime Commission contract (MC hull 2362) at Kaiser Co., Inc., Vancouver, WA.
• Launched, 5 July 1945
• Delivered to Matson Navigation Co., 11 October 1945, at Portland, OR.
• Acquired by American Export Lines, 22 August 1946, at New York, N.Y.
• Returned to the Maritime Commission for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, James River Group, Lee Hall, VA., 23 May 1949
• Transferred to the National Defense Reserve Flee, Hudson River Group, 31 August 1951
• Acquired by the US Navy, 17 March 1952
• Assigned to the Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS), and placed in service as USNS Marine Carp (T-AP-199), 15 September 1952, at Baltimore, MD.
• During the Korean War USNS Marine Carp participated in the following campaigns:
• Placed out of service, 9 October 1957, and returned to the Maritime Administration
• Laid up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, at Beaumont, TX., 11 September 1958
• Struck from the Naval Register, 11 September 1958
• Sold for commercial operations, 20 July 1967, to Central Gulf Steamship Corp., renamed SS Green Springs
• Final Disposition, sold for scrapping, 13 July 1979, to Chin Ho Fa Steel & Iron Co., Ltd., Taiwan
