Απο που δλδ βγαζεις το συμπερασμα οτι "χτενισα'' το site του Σουηδου? Αποκλειεται να το ηξερα? Την φωτο αυτη που εβαλες την εχω ξαναδει πριν μηνες;). Ευχαριστω και για τα ευρετρα αλλα και αυτη την εχω δει στο παρελθον.

Και μια ασχετη ερωτηση, Παριανος ή Σαλονικιος εισαι, γιατι ''τον πηρε καμποση ωρα'' το λενε στη Θεσσαλονικη:D

Επι τελους κατορθωσα να βρω μια καρτ ποσταλ του Saronic Star (τωρα συλλογης μου), ενος πλοιου που δεν το γνωρισα ποτε μου αλλα, βασει των οσων γραψατε εδω ειναι πολυ ενδιαφερον.

Χρονια; Δεν ξερω. Πιθανως γυρω στο 1988

Nicholas did'nt quite know where to post this as I could'nt find a thread for Saronic Cruises but found this interesting brochure on ebay and would like to know if anyone knows which ship they had in mind?

The inside photo is obviously a touched up artists impression but the vessel seems familiar and she is a handsome little cruiser......any ideas from my friends ?

The Greek history of Saronic Sun included trips in the Aegean in the 1980s as a ship of Blue Aegean Sea Lines, then of Saronic Cruises. After her sale to Alevizos in 1986 she was doing the trip Herakleion-Santorini

It is interesting that as Le Mistral she moved to the country of Vanuatu in the Pacific!

Hi Henry,
The little MISTRAL was my first cruise ship :grin:
I did a day cruise on her back in 1982 from Heraklion to Santorini. She was a charming little ship, clean and tidy but was operated at a rather slow spped.
I remember PORTOKALIS ILIOS (ORANGE SUN) which was doing the same run, passing by like we were stopped.

I will upload some shots from a brochure this weekend.

As promised following are some photos from the 80s brochures.

First as the SARONIC SUN. Back in 1982, she used to sail from Piraeus (Flisvos) to Spetses or alternative to Mykonos-Delos.
I think that a shorter run from Lavrio to Mykonos was tried at first.

Thanks Aris for these great photos. As you said earlier she was a very tidy looking ship with well rounded lines but quite handsome and compact almost like a mini liner. I did'nt realise she had such a colourful career!

Aris are you sure it was sailing to Spetses? It was definately visiting Hydra at the time along with Poros and Aegina. I saw it many times during the summer at the port of Hydra.
