Hope you enjoy a selcetion of ships postcards of one of my favourite ships ever the mythical Taras Schevchenko.

History:
16/01/1965 launched in the shipyard- The third “Poet” Class ship was built in yard 127 and launched on January 16, 1965 and was named Taras Shevchenko, after a famed Ukrainian “Taras Hryhorovich Shevchenko,” a great Ukrainian poet, artist and thinker.
26 April 1967 - After the fitting out had been completed and she was delivered on April 26,1967 to her owners the USSR “Black Sea Shipping Company” of Odessa.
Since 1989, he transferred to the charter for five years the company Jahn Reisen.
1995 Submitted offshore company Blasco UK, Monrovia, Liberia.
It has been renovated in 1995 and returned to Odessa, Ukraine.
1997 sold to another offshore company "Ocean Agencies", Odessa, Ukraine.
Started in June 1998 three-week cruise from Piraeus, with 532 passengers on arrival at Piraeus, the ship was arrested because of financial problems for the shipping company.
25/07/1998 Redeemed from captivity by "Antarctica" and mooring in Ilyichevsk.
2001-2002 years. She undertook a complete redesign, according to the requirements of the Registry: Ships equipped with stabilizers pitching, air-conditioned, modern materials used for relaxing in the comfort of cabins and decks. For tourists - two swimming pools with sea water, a gym with fitness equipment, volleyball and basketball courts, a winter garden, a solarium, a music room, a restaurant, a night club with a disco, cinema, beauty salon. "Moreover, due to the fact that the vessel has a cabin 13 x different categories, allowing thus all passengers to go on a cruise , applying for a cabin class top "luxury", down till the most basic level of comodity, such as a shared sea voyage in inexpensive 4-6-seater cabins.
07/2003 take a cruise on the Black Sea with 700 tourists visited Yalta, Sochi, Batumi, Istanbul, Odessa.
11/2004 Sold for scrapping.
01/2005 renamed "Taras".
01/2005 initiated a voyage for demolition from Ilyichevsk to India.
