To AXIΛΛΕΥΣ ήταν το πρώτο πλοίο που αγόρασε ο Γ.Ποταμιάνος, ιδιοκτήτης σήμερα της Arcalia.
Το αγόρασε το 1970 και πέρασε όλα του τα χρόνια σε ναυλώσεις στη Σκανδιναβία. Τελικά πήγε για σκραπ το 1983 σε ηλικία 44 ετών.
Τις ναυλώσεις τις συνέχισε το πορτογαλέζικο Funchal που σήμανε και την ανάμειξη του Ποταμιάνου με τα πορτογαλέζικα δρόμενα και που οδήγησε στην Arcalia.

Starce, it was always a Potamianos ship in Greece (see Miramar below). Do not mix it with the more well-known Achilleus of Ansaldo, Italy, the sister of Agamemnon who belonged to Nomikos.

Hi Nicholas,absolutely not confuse with Achilleus of Dorian Cruises / Nomikos. I was referring Achilleus of Potamianos as I never seen in this livery.

The beautiful Achilleus was chartered to inter-island passenger service in Azores islands , I think Oct-November 1979 or 1980 , when the local vessel Ponta Delgada, 1054grt/62 went to Lisbon drydocks. She had yellow corn hull and the logo Anedin Linien and, before the arrival of modern car ferries and new ports ,she was the best ship in this service.
P.S. the Express Santorini is just arriving at Ponta Delgada harbour, St. Michael island, 9.05.2009
