Enjoy the official company postcard of Balkan Touristik passenger ship M/S NESSEBAR.

History:


Ex-SAGA build for Svenska Lloyd. Build in1940.

On service till 1946 on the route Götenburg-London.

1947 - Start cruising for Svenska Looyd.

Acquired by French Transatlantique on 1956. Renamed VILLE DE BORDEAUX.

Used on the route Bordeaux-Casablanca till1957, replacing the M/S MAROC.

1960, used on the routes bound to North Africa & Atlantic isles.

1963 used on the route of Corse.

Acquired on February 1964 by NAVIGATION MARITIME BULGARE. Renamed NESSEBAR. Used as a full time cruise ship in the Black Sea by Balkan Touristik, Varna, Bulgaria.

1973 ownership transfered totally to BALKANTURIST.

1976 Demolished in Split / Yugoslavia.

If I am not mistaken, she did visit Piraeus regularly as Nessebar in the 60's. I remember seeing her as a rare sight in Piraeus along with Nevasa and Uganda-the school ships.

Το πρώτο φίλε Τοξότη είναι κατασκευής 1940. Το δεύτερο του 1966, το μετέπειτα ΦΑΙΣΤΟΣ των Μινωϊκών Γραμμών . Και τα δύο κτίστηκαν για λογαριασμό της ίδιας εταιρίας Svenska Lloyd.
