No.4 (the POLARIS) was the -at that time- AQUAMARINE. She was supposed to be sold to Polaris Cruises but apparently the deal felt through...

Back in 1991, a new firm named Swedish American Cruises, ordered a 12,000 grt (150 x 21.1 m) vessel at C.N.Ferrari to place them in the incentive & conference travel business.

The plans were soon cancelled.

And went to Epirotiki instead, becoming their Odysseus!!

I guess that the mast also acted as something like a funnel? Don't like it.
The lines of the after part resembles the ones of QE2 while the funnel looks like the one of the 1959 Rotterdam...

PROJECT 2

A bit more conventional than Project 1. Really don't like that huge mast/funnel. The forward superstructure reminds me of CANBERRA, while the rest of the lines are more close to SAGAFJORD's.

Royal Venture Cruise Line was an interesting venture that the Greek-American Takis Kyriakides tried to start in 1995/6. Initially he wanted to charter CTC's Gruziya (http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/gruziya_1975.htm)as his Royal Venture, then Ukraina (http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/kazakhstan_1976.htm) as Sea Venture and finally Lelakis' defunct Regent Sun as his Sun Venture.

Kyriakides was also the person that owned the never-completed SEA VENTURE back in 1992, as well as the TROPICANA (ex-PRINCES PAOLA).

He also run the VASCO DA GAMA/SEAWIND CROWN for a time.

Great thread! Attached is a rendering of the SEA AMERICA project. These were meant to be 2 US-flag cruise ships for the business conference biz. Never built (unfortunately).

Hi Ellinis,

I believe this project was worked on around the year 2000. After the 9/11 attacks, it disappeared from the radar.

Very very interesting design! Never heard of it before. It didn't make the book "Damned by destiny" for sure. I really like the alternative design!
