Τα τρία αδελφάκια -ΙΩΝΙΑ, ΘΡΑΚΗ και ΑΛΒΑΝΙΑ- ήταν από τα ελάχιστα νεότευκτα που εντάχθηκαν στην ακτοπλοϊα της εποχής. Ανάμεσα σε μετασκευασμένες θαλαμηγούς, φορτηγοποστάλια και υπερήλικα σκαριά, για αρκετά χρόνια θα αποτελούσαν τη ραχοκοκκαλιά της ακτοπλοϊας.
These three were built in 1887. There were three other ships of Panhellenic (Panhellenios) of Piraeus that were built in 1891 but stayed in Greece only until 1895: Athenai, Sparta and Byzantion.
Third, here is Byzantion. By the way, the title Βυζάντιον της Πανελληνίου was used to distinguish her from another Greek passenger ship Byzantion.

Byzantion was built for Panhellenic Line in 1892 by Gourlay Bros & Co in Dundee, Scotland, She had 2,404 tons, a length of 96.8 m (!), a width of 11.9 m and a service speed of 10 knots. She had a single screw, triple expansion engine. She carried 24 passengers in first class and 16 in second class along with more than 220 on deck.

She served the Greek waters and covered long distance routes to Alexandria, Constantinople, Odessa and Marseilles.
In 1895 she was sold to the French Messageries Maritimes, renamed Memphis and placed in the "mixed cargo" London-Marseilles-Mediterranean-Black Sea route. In 1916 she was requisitioned to evacuate the Serbian army from Durazzo (Dyrachion) to Corfu. She made 4 trips carrying 7,124 men who were shipped to Thessaloniki. But on February 6, 1916 she was hit by an aircraft bomb and returned to Durazzo. Then, on the 17th she struck a mine laid by UC 13. Memphis stayed afloat, was towed back to the harbor but was abandoned on the 19th. There were five dead.
