Chios was an important hellenic passenger ship of the 1880-1930 period. She was built as Portland by R. Steele of Cartsburn and launched in October 1876. She belonged to the Clyde Shipping Co and had 923 tons, a length of 70.2 m and a width of 9.4 m.

She was bought by the "Elliniki Atmoploia" (Hellenic Shiiping Co) in 1882 and named Chios
In addition to Miramar, you may consult http://www.clydesite.co.uk/clydebuilt/viewship.asp?id=17357. But, regardless of what Miramar and Clydebuilt say, Chios stayed with Ηellenic for about 7 years and then was gradually passed to McDowall & Barbour.
In 1906 she became a ship of the Ermoupolis Line, otherwise known as Neorion (Syra) Line. In 1908, she passed to Kykladiki Atmoploia (she was already 32 years old!).
Then, in 1916 she became one of the ships of the Palios Line.

She continued remaining with the Palios Line until 1929 wgenshe was bought by the Spetsiotiki Line and became Spetsai. She was caught by the mandatory retirement of 1932 and was scrapped in 1934 at the advanced age of 68!
