Anatoli was one of the smaller ships of the Smyrnan Pantaleon Shipping Co

The Oriental Line of the Pantaleon family started in Smyrna in 1883. Their first ships were the 223-ton Eleni and the 443-ton Smyrna. By the end of the 19th century they had numerous ships including Anatoli, Arcadia, Athinai, Vyzantion, Gortynia, Ourana, Roumeli, Samos, Sparti and Zatouna. Many of these ships had exceptional contributions to Greek shipping (notably Roumeli, Vyzantion and Anatoli) but some of them had very unfortunate ends (Athinai, Sparti).

In the 1908 US State Department publication Commercial Relations of the United States with Foreign Countries it is stated:

Anatoli was the British Otter of the London & Edinburgh Line. See also http://www.clydesite.co.uk/clydebuilt/viewship.asp?id=13263

She was launched in November 1877 at the McIntyre Paisley shipyards. She had 314 tons, 47 m length and just 6.9 m width.

After seven years with London & Edinburgh Shipping Co. in Leith, she was bought by the obscure Carava Limnios of Syros in 1885 and by Pantaleon in 1896.

After 1922, she was used mostly as a cargo ship. She was wrecked on January 13, 1926 at Palaiochora of Crete when transporting olive oil to Piraeus. She was 49 years old.
