What a strange history for this ship! Aktion had a truly unusual beginning! She was built as Minesweeper M-10 for the German Navy at the Aktiengesellschaft Neptun shipyard in Rostock of north east Germany. The keel was laid on January 12, 1915 and she was built and completed on July 12, 1915. She was recorded as having 476 tons and a fast speed of 16 knots.
She was captured by the Allies in 1917 and served in the French Navy in 1917 and 1918.

Surprisingly enough, a Russian site has a lot about her http://navyworld.narod.ru/m1.htm (http://navyworld.narod.ru/m1.htm)
In 1918 (not 1920 as previously reported) M-10 was sold to the Greek Government and named Aktion. In fact, there is a source that claims the name Aktion had been given to her by the French in 1917. In 1921 she was modified and its capacity increased to 650 tons and became a passenger ship for the Peiraiki Atmoploia Kotsovoli and Cia
In 1922, Aktion was sold to Anonymos Elliniki Etaireia Thalassion Epiheiriseon (Hellenic Company of Maritime Enterprises), otherwise known as the Palios Line!
Typical of her travels during that time is the schedule of June 21, 1924, which indicates a short route to Argosaronikos and south to Nauplion, Astros and Leonidion.

Her service in Greece was not great and she was used very little by Palios.
So, in 1928 she was sold to Glamorgan Coal Co and in 1929 to Margaree Steamship Co. Margaree Steamship Company Limited ran steamship services between Newfoundland, Halifax and Boston and to ports in Cape Breton, Prince Edward Island and eastern Nova Scotia.
Then, in 1930 she was sold to the Canadian National Steamship,Company, Ltd. of Halifax, Nova Scotia and renamed Prince William. I cannot imagine a vessel doing the Argolikos line traveling all the way to Canada!!!
In 1937 her owners were the Prince William, Ltd., of Halifax. Then, in 1939, she had another major trip, via the Panama Canal, to British Columbia where she was sold to Armour Salvage & Towing Co., Ltd. and then, in 1941, owners to Capitol Iron & Metals, Ltd., Victoria, B.C.
She was broken by her owners at Victoria, British Columbia in 1945 (1947 according to the Russians).
She was captured by the Allies in 1917 and served in the French Navy in 1917 and 1918.
