Acajutla was built in 1911 by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson at Wallsend. (NB: Acajutla is a seaport and municipality in the western-most corner of El Salavdor). She had 1,170 tons, a length of 65.7 m, a width of 10.2 m and a service speed of 11 knots.

She was built for the Salvador Railway Company of London and acquired by PSNC, together with the Salvador (a ship that became later the Greek Salamis) in 1915 for their Central American services operating a fortnightly service through the Panama Canal.

During the 1920's she was rebuilt and modernized.

Then, she was sold to Pandelis Line of Greece in 1946, renamed Marathon, and operated by Neil and Pandelis of London on a Greek Island service.

Here is the listing in Miramar

Here is a schedule from November 7, 1947 when she, like Dolores and other ships, was doing the route Rhodes, Haifa, Beirut and Lemessol.

Here she is also on September 24, 1947 and on February 18, 1948
