This was the second Elpiniki, the first having been the one of Ahaiki Atmoploia (see http://www.nautilia.gr/forum/showthread.php?t=81479) and the third having been that of Coumantaros (See http://www.nautilia.gr/forum/showthread.php?t=57437).
The ship was built as a passenger/cargo ship by Scott shipyards in Greenock, Scotland in 1880. Her first name was Dragut. She had 556 tons, 55.6 m length and just 7.8 m width
