Orion (ex-HMS Loch Grom) was bought in 1961 by Kavounidis with the intention to be refitted for cruising. However nothing was done and she remained laid up until scrapped in 1966 in Yugoslavia.
For Hydra we know that she was built in 1942 in Portland, USA so she was most probably a former warship as well. Her dimensions were 53 x 7,3 m. She sailed for Typaldos Bros from Piraeus to the Saronikos islands and later on in the Sporades islands.
She was scrapped in 1971.
The correct name was Loch Gorm (from a lake in Scotland).Παράθεση:

The British Navy had built a whole series of "Loch class" vessels for its needs. I do not have her picture but here is one of her sisters

Here are her characteristics. A very fast ship of the British Navy at 20 knots!

LOCH-Class Twin Screw Fast Frigate ordered on 2nd February 1943 from Harland and Wolf at Belfast and laid down on 28th December 1943 as Job No. J3397 (Yard No. 1247.). The ship was launched on 18th June 1944 as the 1st Royal Navy ship to carry the name. Build was completed on 19th December 1944. This ship was adopted by the civil community of Kingsbridge and Salcombe Urban District, Devonshire in place of HM Fleet Minesweeper LEDA which was sunk in the Barents Sea on 20th September 1942 by U435. HMS LEDA had previously been adopted after a WARSHIP WEEK National Savings campaign in February 1942.

HMS LOCH GORM was selected for modernisation in 1951 but this mm never implemented, presumably due to financial constraints. She remained in Reserve and after her machinery had been preserved went to Glasgow in 1954 for the installation of dehumidification equipment. The ship then joined other ships in Reserve at Barrow, although it had been planned for her to to be laid-up at Gibraltar. In 1956 she was offered for sale to Portugal but this never materialised and the ship went on the Disposal List.
Placed on the Sales List during 1960 she was sold in April 1961 to Kavounides Shipping Ltd and converted by Canaan Laird for use as a passenger ferry Renamed ORION, she was sold in 1966 and broken up in Yugoslavia.

Και από εμένα ένα σχέδιο μιας φρεγάτας τύπου Loch. To LOCH GORM ήταν μια από τις δυο φρεγάτες που ήρθαν για να μετασκευαστούν σε επιβατηγά. Το άλλο ήταν το ΤΕΤΗ που ήταν τύπου River.

Στα πέντε χρόνια που παρέμεινε στην Ελλάδα έμεινε δεμένο χωρίς να μετασκευαστεί. Επίσης η αναφορά που γίνεται σε μετασκευή του στα «CanaanLaird» είναι λάθος, για την ακρίβεια δεν βρήκα καν να υπάρχει ναυπηγείο με αυτό το όνομα.
Mένει να βρεθεί και κάποια φωτογραφία που να το δείχνει όπως ήταν στο Πέραμα.
Στην ελληνική ταινία Αγάπησα και Πόνεσα του 1963 φαίνεται σε αυτό το καρέ πρυμνοδετημένο στο Ξαβέρι το ΩΡΙΩΝ του Καβουνίδη. Παρέμεινε αμετασκευάστο μέχρι που διαλύθηκε.

Κάπου μεταξύ 1962-66 ο Καβουνίδης κυκλοφόρησε μια ευχετήρια κάρτα βασισμένη σε αυτή τη φωτογραφία του Πειραιά στην οποία είχαν ρετουσαριστεί όσα πλοία δεν ανήκαν στην εταιρία. Αυτό που βλέπουμε παρακάτω στου Τζελέπη εκτιμώ οτι είναι μια καλλιτεχνική απεικόνιση του πως θα ήταν το ΩΡΙΩΝ αν μετασκευαζόταν.

Αμφιβάλλω αν η μετασκευή πλησίαζε την εμφάνιση του ρετουσαρισμένου πλοίου.
Σε μια φωτογραφία του Περάματος του 1962, φαίνεται και στο περιθώριο ένα πολεμικό σκαρί με το γνώριμο "Κ" στην τσιμινιέρα του. Δεν είναι άλλο από το ΩΡΙΩΝ του Καβουνίδη.
Όσο για το μότορσιπ στο πρώτο πλάνο και αυτό είχε μια πλούσια ιστορία .
