Το Γνωσιθεα ηταν ενα μικτο πλοιο (επιβατηγο/φορτηγο) του Φιλιππου Καβουνιδη στο Αιγαιον κατα την διαρκεια της περιοδου 1913−1917. Το πλοιο ειχε ναυπηγηθει στην Αγγλια απο τα ναυπηγεια το 1871 με το ονομα Emma Trechmann. Ειχε 757 τοννους και μηκος 59,8 μετρων.

Το πλοιο εκανε βασικα την γραμμη Λονδινου και Terneuzen στην Ολλανδια απο το 1891−94.

Mr Van Ysselsteyn, a former Director of the London firm Little & Johnston, founded the Société Maritime Belge in 1891, although the registered office and the homeport were at Brussels, the management office was at Terneuzen. A regular service between this Dutch port and London was maintained by the ss LONDRES and TERNEUZEN.

Already at the end of 1892 the C° was in financial difficulties and the Dutch manager Van Ysselsteyn had to withdraw from the Board of Directors. The management was then taken over by the C° du Chemin de Fer Gand-Terneuzen which hoped to revive and save the line, this railroad C° intervening for an important share in the traffic of the line. However they had to start with a balance sheet showing a loss of 200.000 BF and it soon appeared that the C° continued to loose monthly some 6.500 BF. It was therefore decided in 1894 to wind up the C° Little & Johnston, former London employers of Mr. Van Ysselsteyn, bought the two iron steamers LONDRES and TERNEUZEN in 1894, both reverted for a while to their former names ANN WEBSTER and HALLING

Το πλοιο αγοραστηκε απο τον Φιλιππο Καβουνιδη το 1913. Πηρε το ονομα Γνωσιθεα.

Μετα το ναυαγιο του τον Ιουνιο 1917 φαινεται οτι πουληθηκε σε καποιον αλλο γιατι στις 19 Αυγουστου 1921 διαβαζουμε

Το Γνωσιθεα ηταν ενα μικτο πλοιο (επιβατηγο/φορτηγο) του Φιλιππου Καβουνιδη

To πλοίο αυτό ήταν από τα αμιγώς φορτηγά του Καβουνίδη. Τουλάχιστον ως φορτηγό το αναφέρουν τόσο οι ξένες όσο και οι Ελληνικές πηγές (π.χ. στο βιβλίο "Εν καιρό πολέμου" )
Οπότε μιας και δεν έχουμε και κάποιο δρομολόγιο που να το τοποθετεί σε ακτοπλοϊκούς πλόες θα το μεταφέρω στα φορτηγά.
