Melina
Aris this photo of her with lowered lifeboats appeared in the first two pages of the Clarksons 1971 brochure.
I think the picture must have been taken during her trials just outside Piraeus as the background seems very familiar!

Thanks a lot Henry! This is indeed off Piraeus.

Very nice brochure Henry! Thank you.

Melina
Here is an interesting artist's impression of the Melina as she appeared in the 1970 Clarksons main summer brochure. This was the first year of operation and over the next few years they introduced the Delphi and Delos until their demise in 1974 when the company went bankrupt mainly due to the fuel crisis.
Its actually quite a good painting of her and she looks a lot more sleek and modern than in her real photo earlier on in this thread. These ships were cleverly converted by Efthymiadis and in spite of their size offered good although compact cabins (all with a/c and facilities which for that time was a bit of a novelty) and a good range of public rooms.
She is definitely my favourite Greek small ship conversion of the 70's. This and her name of course which is a classic!

A lovely drawing indeed Henry. She does appears a bit more streamlined and modern than in reality.
When MELINA and DELOS were bought, it was stated by Efthymiades that they would be converted into fully airconditioned cruise ships with 480 berths, of which 320 would be in outside 2-berth cabins and 160 in inside 4-berth, all with WC. It was mentioned that they would also have garage for 70 cars, but I don't think that this was implemented.
