Very nice ad of Karageorgis announcing the first trip of Mediterranean Sea from Patras-Brindisi-Ancona (December 11, 1972, just 38 years ago!)

And a few days before (11/11/1972), the ship was advertised in a different way... The most luxurious hotel in the world!

Thank you Nicholas for this fine research into Karageorgis Lines. It is a shame that this company did'nt go deeper into the cruise business as they seemed to run a very good operation with the Navarino and their two luxurious ferries which were the pioneers of todays mega ferries crossing the Adriatic.
All the best, Henry.
Henry, it was mostly the mediterranean cruise crisis of 1981 that hammered Karageorgis cruise sectori. NAVARINO was doing very well and had a strong following but she still was a one-ship operation and the plans to team her with MEDITERRANEAN ISLAND did not materialized.
Here she is laid up as ALICE at Avlis in 1997, photographed by P.Knego.
