Here is a wonderful and accurate depiction of Teti's history, a Sigalas ship (sister of Cadio). So it makes sense why they are next to each other in this photo from http://www.nautilia.gr/forum/showthread.php?p=185458 Teti left, Cadio right.

This is a very interesting citation about Teti in the old days that I found in http://www.zortal.gr/modules/newbb/v...post_id=400963

The story of Teti/Adriatiki Part 1

The exceptional pictures and updates on Teti and Adriatiki made me call an 80-year old friend in Boston who used to wok for Typaldos back in the 50s... His memory is quite clear. Teti arrived in Piraeus in December 1946 with major construction of its super structure. She was used extensively by the Sigalas Line as their flag ship because she was very new and extremely fast.

In 1955, she was sold to Typaldos Line because the Sigalas Line had some financial difficulties. My friend claims that "Mr Sigalas was seriously ill at that time". He claims that Teti was sold to Typaldos and the only thing that changed was the insignia on its funnel. it was only later, in 1957 or January of 1958 that she was sent to Perama for extension of its superstructure and change of color to white. At that time, she was named Adriatiki. [NB: I have not found any Typaldos ad about Teti in 1955-1958].

The name change date of course would disagree with the dates given in Miramar. But, surprisingly enough, there is a unique photograph that may support these memories. Laurence Dunn's recent book on Mediterranean Shipping offers a very clear photograph of Teti as a Typaldos ship and with the name Teti! Next to her, there is a black and dirty Philippos! Since Philippos joined Kavounides in 1955 and started doing runs that summer, it is clear that Teti was sold to Typaldos in 1955 but kept her name until later!

In the following messages you will see numerous photos and schedules of both Teti and Adriatiki

As Adriatiki under Typaldos she was doing mostly cruises. Here is a photograph from the port of Odessa, Soviet Union. In the 1960s Typaldos was working with Intourist offering special cruises to the Black Sea

    Adriatiki in Russia.jpg
