Niki was a small passenger vessel of 455 tons built of modified by McDowall in Syros around 1896. She joined the McDowall & Barbour shipping company in 1897 and was placed in the Laconia/Messinia route.
In 1916 she was bought by the Palios Line but in 1917 she was sunk in the Gulf of Kalamai due to a war related incident. She was raised and repaired in 1919 and was bought by the Shipping Company of Chatzis.
In a December 2, 1919 ad she is shown as going the Evoikos route all the way to Volos. On February 20, 1920 she does the same route while on June 18, 1920 she extends her rout eto Thessaloniki.
