Προεπιλογή Ευθυμία [Ναυτίλος, Φούλα - Orkdal, Svorka, Lynx, Foula, Aghios Georgios, Nautilos]

Aghios Georgios was a small passenger ship active in Greece in the 1930s. She was built as Orkdal in Norway at the Trondheims Mekaniske Verksted in Trondheim, Norway, in 1899. She had 35.2 m length, 5.8 m width and 194 tons.

Trondhjems mekaniske Værksted or TMV was a major shipbuilding company in Trondheim, Norway. It was founded in 1872 by the engineer Sophus August Weidemann. For many years TMV was the biggest employer in Trondheim. The majority of TMV's shares was acquired by Aker in 1960, merging them into the Aker Group. The company was closed in 1983.

Orkdal was a steam ship that operated the line between Thamshavn in Orkdal and Trondheim in the Trondheim Fjord in Norway between 1899 and 1908. It operated two round trips each day and was owned by Chr. Salvesen & Chr. Thams's Communications Aktieselskab.

She became Svorka again in Norway, then Lynx (where?) then Efthymia in Greece in the 1920s, and then Aghios Georgios in 1928 … She was assigned mostly to the Pagasitikos Gulf and the Vorioi Sporades islands. In 1929 he was running the route of just Volos-Trikeri!!!

She was listed with Emmanuel Vardavas on 1930, with N Verveniotis-Filsou in 1933-35 (but 216 tons), with the Pagasitikos Steamship of Seretis in 1937-39, and with Ch. with Kavounides in 1940. She was requisitioned by the Greek Navy on October 31, 1940 She was bombed on May 20, 1941

None of these very small pre-war ship is free of questions... So, why does Tzamtzis say that she changed names to Nautilos and was active in 1934 and owned by S Poulias? And then he repeats she was later Nautilos under Ch Kavounides? Maybe Ellinis has the answer..

This may be Aghios Georgios but I am not sure. It looks a bit big
