Pteroti was a very small Greek passenger ship with an unusual name that was doing mostly the Argosaronikos route in the 1920s. She was built as San Marco by the small Marco Martinolich shipyards in the Dalmatian island of Lussinpiccolo in 1897 (Tzamtzis says 1879 which does not agree with Lloyd). She had 146 tons, length of 116.8 ft (35.1 m) and width of 5.9 m. It is not clear when she came to Greek hands but it is probably in the post-1912 period. First she belonged to Ioannis Antonopoulos of Volos (see below). Then, she belonged to S. Sahtouris. She was requisitioned on October 31, 1940 and bombed on April 20, 1941
