Sierra Morena 1924-1934 - NDL
1934 -Sold to Nazi Deutsche Arbeitsfront for Strength Through Joy cruising – KDF - renamed Der Deutsche.
1946 –Survived the war and appropriated by the Russians, who converted it to passenger liner Asia during 1947/48. By 1950, was rebuilt with one funnel and sailed mostly in Far Eastern waters between Vladivostock and Kamchatka.
Finally broken up in 1970.

Dimas, this is a very interesting ship and somehow connected to Greece. You see when she was built the SIERRA CORDOBA was a sister to the SIERRA VENTANA.
When they were sold in 1935, SIERRA VENTANA was renamed SARDEGNA for the Italian Government. On December 28/29, 1940 SARDEGNA was torpedoed and sunk by the Greek submarine PROTEUS in the Adriatic Sea.
This is one of the biggest successes of ww2 for Greek submarines. Unfortunately PROTEUS was also lost that night, with all hands.
